History
This 1969 Lotus Super Seven S3 is fitted with the Lotus TwinCam 1.6L engine. The car underwent a total restoration in 2003 by Serge Saulnier, including replacement of the chassis, engine, gearbox and aluminium fuel tank. Since then, the car has been driven very few kilometres, mainly for pleasure and eleven laps of the Magny-Cours track just after restoration. This S3 is one of the last to be built with this iconic engine. It comes with a collector's registration card.
Conditions
This copy is in an excellent state of preservation, both aesthetically and mechanically.
Exterior
The bodywork is in perfect condition, having been fully treated during the restoration. The paintwork is shiny and tight. There are no notable defects to report. The Minilite light-alloy wheels are impeccable, as are the headlights and rear-view mirrors, adding to the timeless charm of this model.
Interior
The minimalist interior is perfectly in keeping with the purist spirit of the Seven. The seats and vinyl upholstery are in excellent condition, a testament to the care taken during the restoration. The on-board equipment, though rudimentary, is functional and offers an authentic driving experience.
Mechanical
The Ford engine with double overhead camshafts works perfectly, delivering reliable and dynamic performance. The completely revised gearbox ensures smooth, precise shifts. With disc brakes at the front and drums at the rear, this Lotus offers effective and balanced braking. Handling is true to the model's reputation, thanks to an optimised chassis and reduced weight.
