Chassis number: 1834361WO854
History: This Volvo was delivered new in France and came into the hands of the current owner over 13 years ago. He has taken great care of it, notably with serious maintenance and bodywork restoration.
Condition :
General: This P1800 ES is in very good condition.
Exterior: The bodywork is very shiny thanks to its restoration. The paintwork shows very slight traces of its past adventures without detracting from the overall harmony. The blue tint perfectly exposes the car's lines. The car's history can also be seen on its rims, which, despite showing a few marks, remain solid and match the car's configuration very well, and 5 new tyres have just been fitted. Overall, the chrome, lights and mirrors are in good condition.
Interior: The cabin is really harmonious, the black of the seats goes perfectly with the blue of the carpets and the roof lining. The leather has a very nice patina and the seats have retained all their support. The sunroof with retractable spoiler, a very rare original option on this model, works well and provides plenty of light. The dark wood trim on the dashboard is very attractive.
Powertrain: The 4-cylinder fuel injection works very well, and starting is trouble-free thanks to the work done on the starter motor. The Borg Warner automatic transmission has been completely overhauled, as has the braking system.

Alongside the sedans and estate cars that formed the core of the range and had built the Swedish firm's reputation since the post-war years, Volvo first diversified into a more recreational model presented in 1961 under the name of P1800 - an originally shaped coupé based on the Amazon sedan, the first examples of which were built at the Jensen factory in West Bromwich, England, before production was repatriated to Sweden. It was in its original form that the model was most widely distributed, but in 1972 Volvo presented an unexpected derivative in the form of a timelessly elegant hunting station wagon, much sought-after today. Produced in just over 8,000 units in less than two years, the P1800 ES was one of the decade's stylistic milestones, without abandoning the brand's proverbial values of solidity and durability.
