Porsche 911 Carrera 2.7 MFI "Sondermodell" 1976 - 1/113 units - matching numbers - superb condition - 6-month warranty
The Carrera 2.7 MFI was primarily produced during the model years 1974 and 1975. It was no longer in the catalog in 1976, as it was replaced by the Carrera 3.0. However, there were still engines and gearboxes/differentials in stock, and 113 coupes were assembled at the end of the 1976 model year (June and July 1976), along with 30 Targas for the Belgian police. It is therefore a specific model, named "Sondermodell," distributed only in Germany at the time.
So this is the last year in which 911s were produced with the mechanical fuel injection (MFI) engine that had equipped the 1973 Carrera RS, the famous type 911/83 developing 210 hp.
In addition to their rarity, the interest in these 1976 vintage cars lies in their corrosion protection treatment by galvanization. They were assembled based on the "base" 911 type and not a Carrera 3.0, which is noticeable by certain details of their equipment, notably the manual window lifters. There is no badging on the rear trunk (neither 2.7 logo nor Carrera). However, the rear fenders were of course widened like on the other MFI models.
All modifications were grouped under option code 405.
Our 2.7 Coupe is number 44/113 and is 100% matching: engine, gearbox, Silver Metallic exterior color, and with its blue and green tartan interior.
The Porsche certificate is available in German and English, and its history is known: after being sold in Germany by Schultz dealership in Ratingen, the car went through the Netherlands and has been in France since 1996.
The car underwent a complete body/paint restoration a few years ago, which is not documented, but the exterior result and the underbody testify to real quality. The car is sound, without corrosion, and particularly clean structurally.
The engine and several mechanical elements underwent restoration between 2019 and 2020, and many invoices for parts are available, totaling €20,000. The seats have been recently redone with original fabric.
The car does not appear to have been in an accident, as a geometry report, available with the car's documents, shows normal chassis settings.
This is an exceptional opportunity to acquire one of the last examples of the Carrera 2.7 equipped with the same engine and mechanical injection as the legendary 911 2.7 RS, in an extremely rare version that offers body galvanization and has been fully restored to original specifications.
