FRANCE - VIgan (30)
Our example, numbered 1599, is one of the last to be prepared by the English TWR (specific to Phase 1). This Clio was delivered new in France in December 2003, and has been with the same owner for almost seven years. It benefits from invoices and a complete, stamped service book (rare for these cars!).
With 73,000 kilometers on the clock, the car is in excellent cosmetic and mechanical condition. Originally in "Iceberg" grey, it was completely repainted in 2007 (on invoice) in the famous Renault Sport "Sirius Yellow" shade.
The interior was also finished in yellow, with leather and alcantara seats. Wheels, mirrors and air intake scoops in "anthracite grey" are in excellent condition. A black leather engine cover with yellow stitching has been installed and signed by Jean Ragnotti.
In 2021, at 68,152 km, the timing belt and rear brake pads were replaced. An overhaul with oil change has just been carried out at 73,000 km, with replacement of the wiper pump and reverse switch. The alternator has recently been changed and new rear tires have been fitted for sale.
Our example is fitted with a special silencer, but the original exhaust silencer will be supplied for sale, as will the spoiler and car radio.

In the beginning was the R5 Turbo - an improbable and ingenious machine which, although it looked like a successful small city car, actually had the mechanics and running gear of a genuine sports car. Powerful and full of character, the 5 was an instant hit with driving enthusiasts, and is still highly sought-after by collectors today. Twenty years later, Renault Sport was back at it again with a second-generation Clio, entrusted to the care of TWR - Tom Walkinshaw's company - to create a sort of reincarnation of the R5 Turbo. As with the R5 Turbo, the engine is located in a central position at the rear, which means that the rear seats can no longer be used; and, like its ancestor, this very special Clio boasts hypertrophied rear wings. These no longer accompany a supercharged four-cylinder, but the atmospheric "L7X" V6, designed in partnership with PSA. With 230 hp for 1,300 kilos, the power-to-weight ratio is very attractive and, combined with the ultra-short wheelbase, results in a car that's a joy to drive on twisty roads... provided you've got a bit of a knack for it!
