GERMANY - Mezy sur Seine (78)
History: This 964 was delivered new in Germany and imported into France ten years later. The current owner, who is only the fourth, acquired it in 2022 and has been busy carrying out various works to restore the car to its former glory.
Condition :
General: Both aesthetically and mechanically this 964 is in excellent condition.
Exterior: The bodywork of this Porsche is free from any major defects. The paintwork is remarkably bright. The wheels are in excellent condition. The two rear light lenses and the headlamp have been changed, as has the windscreen, to bring this car as close as possible to its original condition. Some 964 RS components were fitted during the paintwork refurbishment, notably the central part of the rear bumper, the rear-view mirrors and the scoops in the front bumper where the fog lamps are located. The original components will be supplied with the car.
Interior: The interior is also in excellent condition. Slight touch-ups have been carried out on the leathers to ensure that this car is offered to you in impeccable condition. The seats have retained all their support and the dashboard is free of any marks or scratches. All the on-board instrumentation is functional and some faulty speakers have been replaced.
Mechanicals: After 143,000 km, the engine was rebuilt so that it could retain all its power. Today, it starts normally, revs well and delivers all its power. It handles very well on the road, and the sound of this engine only adds to the driving pleasure.

Some manufacturers don't hesitate to change the name of fundamentally unchanged models, in order to give them a new lease of life at little cost. In 1988, Porsche did exactly the opposite: under the unchanged - and by now unavoidable for the Zuffenhausen firm - identity of "911", it was an almost entirely new car that enthusiasts were able to discover that year. The Typ 964, as listed in the Porsche nomenclature, was 85% new, even though the overall architecture remained faithful to the 911's fundamentals and the car's silhouette had been carefully preserved. With its flat-six engine still mounted on the rear overhang, its frog eyes and on-board furnishings largely taken from its predecessors, the model today appears as a seductive aggregate of the vintage attributes of the most famous of Porsches (the 911's "face" will change very significantly with the arrival of the 993) and a certain modernity, with its power steering, ABS and finally efficient heating system. When equipped with two-wheel drive, as here, the 964 also delivers a driving sensation that's more or less intact!
