The car was delivered new to the USA in 1954. It left the factory in ivory and was then repainted in black. This MG remained in the same family from 1984 until 2015, when it was purchased by the current owner.
Condition:
General: This MG is in fair condition. It has never been restored but has been regularly maintained and preserved. It now has a very nice patina.
Exterior: The bodywork is in fair condition, although there are some age-related defects. Apart from rust pitting on the rear bumper and a slight deformation of the front grille, the chromework is in good condition. The wheels show some signs of wear and the headlamps look good.
Interior: The cabin looks good, with an elegant patina. The red leather upholstery has no holes or tears. The dashboard is in fair condition. All the instruments are functional.
Powertrain: The engine works and starts well both hot and cold. The car revs well and handles well on the road. As far as the gearbox is concerned, the ratios are well guided and don't creak. Suspension and braking are good.
Chassis and underpinnings: The underpinnings are sound, photos are available on request.
