FRANCE - Taupont (56)
This MG was imported to France in 2007 and has had 5 owners since. The current owner has owned it since 2019 and has made numerous mechanical changes over the past three years (more than 6,500 euros). A 5-speed gearbox has been installed to provide greater driving comfort.
Condition:
General: This car is in very good overall condition.
Exterior: The bodywork is very bright, in a particularly desirable shade for an MG B. Slight cracks in the paintwork are to be noted. The chrome and spoked wheels are also in fine condition, and the badges are all presented. The soft top is in very good condition.
Interior: The interior is in very good condition overall. The black leatherette upholstery, decorated with white piping, presents itself very well and offers comfortable seating. The dashboard and instrument panel are well preserved, and all instrumentation is functional.
Mechanics: The car starts and runs very well. The engine idles, revs and delivers all its power. Gearbox shifting is smooth, and braking and suspension components are good.

Looking at it today, it's hard to imagine that this graceful body is now in its sixties. Yet it was in 1962 that MG introduced the model which, until the appearance of the Mazda MX-5 a quarter of a century later, remained for a long time the world's most mass-produced convertible. By 1980, over 500,000 MGBs (all variants) had left the historic factory in Abingdon, Oxfordshire. In 1967, the model was still in its infancy and, apart from a few cosmetic details, had retained much of its original appearance. Chrome was still very much in evidence, notably on the front grille, while the legendary BMC B-Series engine - which had been fitted with a five-bearing crankshaft instead of a three-bearing one as early as 1964 - displayed sufficient vigor to take the crew to prohibited speeds. A pleasure car par excellence, the MGB nevertheless boasts real versatility of use (there's a real trunk, for example), further enhanced by reliable, low-maintenance powertrains.
