Jaguar E-Type Series 1 3.8 Cabriolet
In-line 6 cylinder engine - 265 bhp - 22 PS
5-speed GETRAG manual gearbox
Dark blue opalescent exterior - Beige leather interior - black soft top
Mileage: 9,000 km (5-digit odometer)
First MEC : 01/01/1964
VIN : 879128
History :
- The car was produced in 1963 and delivered new to New York.
- It was imported into France at the end of the 1980s, probably in early 1989.
- In 1992, it was completely restored by Éric Vignes, a recognised specialist in the world of classic Jaguars, at a cost of 360,000 francs. The chassis was stripped bare, the hollow bodies treated, and so on.
- The previous owner bought the car in 2005 and sold it to the current owner at the beginning of 2023 through our intermediary.
- The current owner is continuing the maintenance by having a few points revised to keep it perfectly reliable.
Condition:
General: This E-Type is in very good presentable condition.
Exterior: Visually, the car is beautiful and very elegant. The chrome on the bumpers is in good condition. The spoked wheels show a few spots of oxidation. The headlamps and black soft top are in very good condition.
Interior: The beige interior contrasts elegantly with the blue bodywork. The leather and upholstery are in fine condition. So is the aluminium and leather dashboard. The wooden steering wheel is also in superb condition. All the on-board instrumentation is functional and the speedometers have been upgraded to km/h.
Mechanical: The 3.8 engine is original, ‘matching numbers’ according to the Heritage certificate. It works very well and is regularly serviced. The ignition has recently been rebuilt. The Getrag gearbox is much more pleasant to drive than the original MOSS gearbox: the synchronisation of the gears and the gear ratios are much better. Roadholding is excellent. The cooling system (radiator, hoses, etc) has recently been overhauled to make the car as reliable as possible.
Underpinnings: The structure is sound. According to the information at our disposal, the car has not been involved in any accidents.
Equipment:
Getrag 5-speed gearbox

Spoke wheels
Speedometers KM/H
