This Golf VR6 (version 2.8 with 174hp) was delivered in Germany in 1995 and arrived in France in 2010. The car has 50,000km and is presented in superb original condition. With its original "Windsor Blue" (LN5Y) paintwork, climate control, sunroof, original BBS wheels and black leather interior, this VR6 is completely original and in a sought-after configuration on the market.
It has been meticulously maintained and has benefited from major expenses, including the fitting of a complete new exhaust system, 2 small corrosion spots on the rear boot have been repaired (classic on these models) and the mechanicals have been overhauled. The automatic gearbox has also been checked. This Golf VR6 is particularly clean, with no signs of impact.
It is becoming rare to find one with such low mileage and in such beautiful original condition on today's market.

At the end of 1991, the Golf III succeeded the second-generation model and broke new ground by becoming the first compact car to be equipped with a six-cylinder engine. And not just any engine, since it combines the advantages of a V6 with those of an in-line engine (hence its name: "VR6" meaning "V-Reihe-Sechs" in the language of Goethe). Already seen in the Corrado and Passat, the VR6 takes its inspiration from the pre-war formula developed by Lancia for its V4, and features an opening angle of just 15 degrees between the cylinders, allowing the use of a single cylinder head. With this 174 hp, 2.8-liter engine, the Golf changed dimension and left GTi territory to become a prestigious compact car, with no real competitors in its segment, but a credible alternative to the contemporary BMW 325i. Driving one again three decades later is always a thrill!
