Delivered new in 1969 in the United States, this superb TR6 was imported to France in 2017. Its current owner acquired it the same year.
The long saga of the Triumph "TR" (for Triumph Roadster), which began with the TR2 in 1953, undoubtedly knows its climax with the TR6 presented at the beginning of 1968 – a car that will never really be replaced in the heart of the brand’s lovers. Deriving closely from the ephemeral TR5, the model takes the fundamentals, as well as the main body designed by Michelotti seven years earlier, the bow and stern of this oneThis, however, was profoundly modernised by the German coachbuilder Karmann. Under the hood, the six-cylinder house delivers its 150 hp with a conviction which delights the amateur; and, against all odds, the TR6, very great commercial success, will thus extend until 1976 the substrates of the British roadster, as we knew them since thewar: an engine with suggestive hummings, two seats and a hood that real sportsmen make a point of honor to never meet, whatever the weather conditions!
