In Porsche mythology, the name 'Speedster' has occupied a special place since the 356 inaugurated the concept. For the record, it's basically a convertible with a shortened windscreen and a generally sportier character than the classic convertibles. After a long eclipse, the Speedster made its comeback in 1988 on the basis of the 911 Carrera 3.2. Six years later, Porsche decided to conclude the career of the Type 964 by reintroducing this body style in a limited series of 936 cars, produced for just two years and based on the Carrera 2 convertible - cars that are naturally highly sought-after today.
Even rarer are the 964 Speedster modified by TechArt, with only two examples on record. The company, based in Leonberg, just outside Stuttgart, configured our example with special wheels, the wider and muscular "Turbo look" body and specific bumpers, while the interior also received the careful attention of TechArt team. Delivered new in April 1994, the car with a spectacular red over black interior specification was transformed by TechArt as soon as it left the factory. It has had four owners to date and has always been serviced by established Porsche specialists; it comes with its service books and original documents.
