FRANCE - La Motte d’Aigues (84)
This Porsche was delivered new to its first owner in Germany in 1992.
Imported into France in 2000, it has since had six owners. The current owner acquired it in 2018. Our example comes with a folder of invoices and its complete, stamped service book.
Condition:
Exterior:
The bodywork is in beautiful condition but has some minor imperfections to the bumpers. The car came from the factory in white, and was subsequently repainted in grey. The rims are in good condition. The rear lights show signs of wear. Apart from this, the rest of the headlights are in good condition. Although functional, the Targa roof shows signs of wear. It is, however, watertight.
Interior: The interior shows some signs of wear due to age and mileage. Nevertheless, it has a nice patina. The standard black fabric and imitation upholstery is well preserved, with no holes or tears. Matching carpets and upholstery are in apparent original condition. The dashboard is well preserved, with no cracks. Instrumentation and on-board equipment are complete and functional.
Mechanics: The engine works, starts and delivers its power correctly. Shifting of the G50 gearbox is good, and the gears are well guided and don't creak. As for braking, the brake pads have recently been replaced.
Underbody: The underpinnings are sound.

Some manufacturers don't hesitate to change the name of fundamentally unchanged models, in order to give them a new lease of life at little cost. In 1988, Porsche did exactly the opposite: under the unchanged - and by now unavoidable for the Zuffenhausen firm - identity of "911", it was an almost entirely new car that enthusiasts were able to discover that year. The Typ 964, as listed in the Porsche nomenclature, was 85% new, even though the overall architecture remained faithful to the 911's fundamentals and the car's silhouette had been carefully preserved. With its flat-six engine still mounted on the rear overhang, its frog eyes and on-board furnishings largely taken from its predecessors, the model today appears as a seductive aggregate of the vintage attributes of the most famous of Porsches (the 911's "face" will change very significantly with the arrival of the 993) and a certain modernity, with its power steering, ABS and finally efficient heating system. When equipped with two-wheel drive, as here, the 964 also delivers a driving sensation that's more or less intact!
