FRANCE - Forges les Eaux (76)
History: Initially registered in France, this 504 equipped with the famous V6 PRV has had different owners, all of them enthusiasts. Its current owner has owned it for more than 17 years, while the previous owner kept it for 6 years.
Condition :
Overall: This car is in beautiful condition although in need of some attention, it has undeniable charm and a solid base. This is an opportunity to acquire a rare 504 Cabriolet V6 at an attractive price.
Exterior: The bodywork shows a few imperfections, notably on the rear trunk and doors, and could do with some paintwork to bring it back to its former glory. However, its current condition displays a general harmony that bears witness to its original state (never restored). The radiator grille needs to be realigned. The soft top is fairly clean and, above all, is not marred. Finally, with the exception of the right-hand rear, the headlights, indicators, mirrors and chrome are in perfect condition.
Interior: The dashboard bears the marks of this car's participation in various historic rallies and thus conveys all its history while retaining a beautiful presentation. The seats are in perfect condition, offering good support and their colour blends perfectly with the bodywork. All the on-board equipment is functional.
Powertrain: The 504's characteristic PRV V6 starts without a hitch, revs well and delivers all its power with a particularly pleasant sound. Road holding is very satisfactory. As for the manual gearbox, it had been changed from 4 to 5 speeds. The new gearbox offers more power and greater comfort, while underpinning the car's sporty character.
Underbody and consumables: The underside of this vehicle bears the scars of the years in the form of a few spots of corrosion and requires some bodywork work. Despite this, the base remains very sound. The rims, which are often one of the first indicators of wear, are in good condition and 4 new TRX tyres have been fitted.
Don't worry about this Peugeot, General de Gaulle himself said "The 504 is solid, serious and French".

Launched in 1969, the 504 cabriolet is part of a long Peugeot tradition: from the 203 to the 308, the Franc-Comté firm has always had at least one convertible in its catalog, almost without a break. Entirely designed and largely built by Pininfarina, the 504, pleasantly transformed in this way - and sharing no embouchure with the saloon - is undeniably one of the Italian coachbuilder's great classics, as well as embodying Peugeot's quintessential style. Initially launched with the in-house four-cylinder engine, the 504 cabriolet received the V6 PRV in its primal version (carburetor-fed, 2664 cm3, 136 hp) from the 1975 model year. Only 974 units were produced in three years, and the six-cylinder engine was discontinued in 1978. Its formal beauty, its great rarity - Peugeot will never again produce a convertible powered by this engine - and the unique wind-in-your-hair driving style combined with the V6's pleasure, make it a particularly desirable machine today, whose value has not finished climbing...
