First MEC : 02/07/1974
Mileage : 180 000 km
Chassis number: 10704312011196
History: The SL (Sport Leicht) range was launched by Mercedes in 1954 with the sublime 300 SL (W198). Since then, the German firm has continued to produce different versions of this model. It was a commercial success, particularly in the United States. Our example is a 1974 3.5-litre R107. This car is in very good condition and is fitted with a hardtop.
Condition :
General: This 350SL has stood the test of time without suffering from the years and is in beautiful condition today.
Exterior: As you can see from the photos, the bodywork of this car is beautifully presented. The paintwork does show some signs of age, but this does not detract from the overall harmony. The navy blue soft top would have seen better days, but it's perfectly adequate and the colour hasn't faded. The hard top is grey and will of course be sold with the car. The wheel rims are in excellent condition and are as good as new.
Interior: The dark blue interior matches the exterior colour perfectly. You can see a few traces of the car's life, notably on the right-hand side of the centre console, but these are very slight indeed. The leather is in very good condition, as is the woodwork on the dashboard and centre console.
Powertrain: The V8 starts very well, revs well and delivers all its power. According to the owner, the manual gearbox is very pleasant, as is the car's handling.
Chassis and underbody: The underpinnings are generally sound, with only a slight trace of surface corrosion present on the sheet metal above the rear axle.
Maintenance:
For sale: a calliper is unsealed and the oil is changed by a professional.
2021: ignition, compressions and injectors check, gearbox and axle oil change by Provost
2013/2014: overhaul including silentblocks, shock absorbers, springs and ignition
2017: ignition, front callipers check, valve clearance by Mercedes
