Chassis number: 35801295
History:
This Range Rover Classic, the very first of its kind and thus carrying the “Suffix A” designation, was delivered new by British Leyland France in Argenteuil in 1972. This vehicle has always remained in France. The most recent owner purchased it in 2021 and is the fifth owner. The previous owner undertook a complete restoration in 2016.
Condition:
Overall: The car is in excellent condition. In 2016, the British brand specialist, Only Land, fully restored the vehicle while ensuring it retained its original configuration. Following this restoration, the car was appraised. Additionally, we have a photo file of the car throughout the restoration process, showing that the car was restored with great care. Good to know: the car comes with two sets of wheels (new road tires & new snow tires).
Exterior: The bodywork is in very good condition. The paintwork is in beautiful condition. The bumpers, rims, and headlights are all excellent.
Interior: Inside, the car is very clean. The leather seats and bench were restored in 2016 and are still in excellent condition. The carpets and headliner are also excellent. All dashboard instrumentation is functional.
Mechanical: In 2022, the current owner replaced the engine—which was still functioning well—with a rebuilt unit of the correct series and year. Consequently, it starts easily and runs perfectly. The gearbox is also in good condition, precise and smooth. During its restoration, the car was fitted with power steering. The driving behavior is very good.
Underbody: The underbody of the car is sound. Photos are available upon request.

Seriously, all things considered, does the discerning motorist need anything more than a Range Rover? In fact, this machine, whose elegant versatility has been praised a thousand times, is probably the closest thing to the ideal formula - of course, we're talking about the first generation of the model, now known as the Classic, because over the years, the continuous inflation of the machine's size and price has gradually distanced it from its original vocation, transforming it into a genuine luxury limousine. This is undoubtedly part of the reason why the first Range models are so popular today: will we ever again see this unprecedented combination of comfort, roominess, practicality, good looks and performance, all packaged in a body that's dripping with class because it carefully avoids falling into the gutter of aggressiveness? To ask the question is to answer it...
