At Ferrari, we're all familiar with the V12 and then V8-engined sedans that have undeniably built the legend of the Italian firm. However, as early as 1960 with the 250 GTE, Maranello opportunely completed its catalog with a long series of front-engined 2+2 coupes, the most fertile line of which was inaugurated in 1972 with the 365 GT/4 2+2, designed by Leonardo Fioravanti. Produced until 1989, the car was renamed "400" at the 1976 Paris Motor Show, when its twelve-cylinder engine was upgraded to 4823 cm3. It was also at this time that Ferrari introduced its first automatic transmission, which was fitted to the vast majority of 400s and later 412s. This is not the case of the car offered for sale, which is one of only 421 examples of the 400i with a manual gearbox - the Bosch K-Jetronic injection system was introduced in 1979. This is a rare opportunity for four people to enjoy the vocals of the V12, whose 315 hp are as expressive as ever four decades later!
