The Coronet, built by Dodge from 1949, was taken up as a full-size car. The term Coronet refers to a small crown with small ornaments set in either gold- or silver-plated metal.
Among Chrysler's fleet, it was one of the first to adopt post-war styling. The car's only engine was a 3.8-liter (230ci) 6-cylinder. Thus equipped, it was considered a pleasant, gentle car, which was nonetheless capable of cruising at 140 km/h, no mean feat at the time.
History :
Delivered new in the United States, the car was repatriated to France and underwent a complete restoration, from chassis to body in 2018/2019.
Condition:
General: This Coronet is in excellent condition, having been expertly restored.
Exterior: The bodywork has been meticulously redone, the paintwork is bright, with no major flaws. Bumpers, chromes and rims look very good. The headlights and windows are in good condition.
Interior: The interior of this tourer looks very good. The seats are comfortable, with no holes or tears. The varnished wood dashboard is in superb condition, and all instruments are fully functional.
Powertrain: The 6-cylinder engine, restored to like-new condition, runs and starts very well. The car revs well and the gearbox shifts smoothly. This Coronet handles very well on the road.
