V8 396ci Big Block 6.5 engine - 350 hp - 37 CV
4-speed manual transmission
Black exterior - Luxury interior (black faux leather / fabric)
First registration: 01/01/1968
Mileage: 3,800 miles - 6,100 km
Chassis number: 124378L331770
History:
In 1968, this Camaro joined its first owner in California. But this is not just any Camaro; originally, it is a Camaro SS (Super Sport) equipped with the 396ci Big Block and the RS (Rally Sport) Pack, making it a true rarity on the market.
The car underwent a complete restoration that began in the United States with its previous owner a few years ago. Upon its arrival in France in 2018, the current owner carried out 25,000 euros of work to improve and ensure the car's reliability. Note that he has all the American and French invoices.
Condition:
General: This Camaro was restored to a high standard and is in excellent condition today. Aesthetically, it is close to its new state, and mechanically, the car is perfectly sound. An appraisal report carried out in January 2024 certifies the very good overall condition of the car.
Exterior: The RS Pack includes front and rear spoilers, a black grille with electric headlight covers, exclusive interior parts, modified taillights, and 4-leaf suspensions. This pack gives it a much sportier look. Originally green, the car was repainted black in 2016 in the United States. The bodywork is in excellent condition, as are the headlights, rims, and chrome.
Interior: The cabin is impeccable. The luxury half-vinyl, half-houndstooth fabric upholstery looks new, as do the dashboard and central console, which feature wood inserts. The wooden steering wheel is also in great condition. All gauges, instruments, and onboard equipment are functional.
Mechanics: The 396ci, with its fierce and hoarse sound, starts perfectly well, thanks in part to the addition of an electronic distributor. Very torquey due to its displacement, this engine is comfortable at any engine speed. Manual transmissions in this model are very rare, as automatic transmissions are more common in the United States. The driving pleasure is thus multiplied by the smooth and well-guided gear shifts.
The owner will include 4 14-inch rims with oval tires from its arrival from the United States in the sale.
Undercarriage: The car's undercarriage is healthy and free from corrosion. An anti-gravel coating was applied by a body shop. Photos are available upon request.
