In 1969, Claude Sautet sent several Giulia coupés to the scrap heap for the accident scene in his most famous work, Les choses de la vie. Cinephiles will no doubt remember the now legendary shots of Michel Piccoli driving his grey Alfa through the streets of Paris, but if a remake of this film were to be made today, a more modern car would undoubtedly be chosen, as the surviving examples of the little coupé designed by Franco Scaglione have become so precious. The archetypal sports car that appeared in the mid-1950s, the Giulietta, which became the Giulia Sprint as its cubic capacity increased, already embodied everything that went to make up the Alfa virus: under a line that almost miraculously combined grace and sportiness, the famous in-house bialbero was nestled - and that was enough to make this car eternally desirable!
