History: Leaving the factory in 1956 in the USA, this Austin Healey 100 BN2 arrived in France in 2008. It is now in the care of its current owner, who acquired it between 2023. The condition of this Austin Healey is exceptional: after its second restoration between 2022 and 2023, it has taken part in just one race, the Le Mans Classic. Note that the vehicle is accompanied by a large file of invoices and a photo file detailing each stage of the restoration - from chassis to restart - it boasts exemplary traceability, attesting to the quality of the work carried out.
Condition:
Restoration: This model underwent a complete restoration between 2010 and 2011, the work being carried out by specialist workshops. The bodywork and upholstery were entrusted to Cecil Cars Automobiles, renowned for their expertise in classic vehicles. Mechanical renovation was carried out by the Harper workshop.
Since 2014, WG British Racing has been regularly monitoring the vehicle, providing maintenance and technical support. Finally, in 2022 and 2023, this Austin Healey underwent further bodywork and paintwork, accompanied by a complete engine restoration.
Current specification: This Austin Healey 100 BN2 has been configured for competition with a racing interior featuring brand-new Tillett B6 FIA bucket seats and Sparco FIA 6-point harnesses for maximum safety. It is fitted with a Teleflex fuel gauge and a new Derrington Motolita 15-inch leather steering wheel. A black-lacquered 4-point roll bar completes its preparation, ensuring protection and compliance for historic racing. The vehicle is equipped with a VH Trip Classic Tripmaster, essential for regularity rallies.
Exterior: The bodywork has been completely rebuilt, with aluminum front and rear panels, enhanced by separator strips. The rocker panels, floorboards and wheel arches are in excellent condition. It is fitted with a reconditioned period Hard Top, providing a rare and authentic complement for purists. The British Racing Green paintwork has been completely redone, with meticulous preparation and carefully applied lacquer, offering a high-quality finish. Mirrors, rims and headlight lenses are also in perfect condition.
Interior: The interior is in excellent condition, with new seats offering optimum support. The interior trim, including that of the transmission tunnel, is in excellent condition, as are the carpets. Thermal insulation has been installed on the driver's side apron and floor, enhancing driving comfort. The dashboard, which matches the British Racing Green bodywork, is in excellent condition and houses a fully functional Smith instrumentation system.
Mechanical: Mechanically, this Austin Healey 100 BN2 benefited from a complete overhaul of the engine and gearbox, using Denis Welch parts. It also benefited from a complete overhaul of the running gear and braking system, ensuring optimum roadholding. The gearbox works perfectly, offering smooth shifts, and the engine revs up smoothly without any abnormal noise. Oil pressure is stable, both at idle and under load.
Eligibility and on-board lot: The vehicle has been appraised and has an FIA Historic Technical Passport valid until 2031, making it eligible for all types of historic racing (Mans Classic, Tour auto, Peter Auto championship...).
